9 Day South Island Itinerary

Christchurch - Greymouth - Fox Glacier - Queenstown - Te Anau - Invercargill - Twizel/Omarama - Christchurch

Day 1

Christchurch

               

Begin in Christchurch, the South Island's largest city, situated on the sunny east coast of the Island, come and enjoy with the Garden City has to offer.

Day 2

Christchurch - Greymouth

Travel just under 4 hours from Christchurch to Greymouth via the dramatic Otira Gorge in Arthur's Pass National Park, with many places to stop near running water and accessible bush walks.

  • Shantytown

 Travel on just under 3 hours to Fox Glacier, the home of the largest and longest Glacier in New Zealand.

 

Day 3

Greymouth - Fox Glacier

Fox Glacier is a 3 hour drive from Greymouth and is a great base to explore the unique environment, there is an abundance of activities for all to indulge in. All in one place!

Day 5 & 6

Queenstown - Te Anau

The lakeside township of Te Anau is located on the edge of Lake Te Anau, looking out to a spectacular backdrop of Mt Luxmore and the Murchison Mountains.

Te Anau - Invercargil
