Kaikoura Seafest

Seafest is Kaikoura's premier annual festival; featuring regional wine and food it is a celebration of the ocean and what it represents for the Kaikoura region.
Seafest takes place this year on 2nd October 2010 at Takahanga Domain, Kaikoura. The Domain is located just off the Esplanade central to town providing good access to all amenities.
The event kicks starts on Friday 1st October with the Big Top Bash. A party held under a large marquee with live entertainment including The Bubblemen and Fusion.
The main event is the Seafest Festival itself; a taste, sight and sound extravaganza with Entertainment for the whole family.
Saturday is a day filled with regional produce. Local wines from the Kaikoura and Marlborough regions will accompany the delights of the sea; choose from mussles, oysters, prawns, scallops, whitebait, paua, crayfish and crab along with many others.
This year there will be a Cuisine tent hosted by "Teppenyaki Queens" Throughout the day there will be fabulous classes discussing the sourcing and choosing of meats and seafood. Demonstrating preparation and cooking techniques on a Hot Plate!
There will be music throughout the day from acts including D'sendantz, The Giddy Robbins, Fusion and The Bubblemen.
For the children there will be entertainment from Natural Magic, Carrot & Pickles the clowns, Face painting, Ballons and more.
All in all it will be a Smorgasbord of Fine Food, Wine, Beverages, and Entertainment for the whole family.
